Artichoke Suite

The Artichoke Suite sits in the old stable wing of the finca, where the walls are close to a metre thick and the windows were cut small, for shade rather than for views. What we added is overhead: generous skylights above both the bedroom and the living room. The light comes straight down and travels slowly across the floor as the day goes — by late afternoon it has moved right across the room.

Thirty-three square metres, a separate bedroom, a living room of your own, coffee and tea things. Cool in August without any effort at all. It is a suite built for slow mornings: coffee in the living room, the bedroom door closed, the rest of the house somewhere far away.
